Eligibility

45+

  • Must be born in or before December 31, 1980

U19

  • Must be under 20 years old as of June 13, 2025 (i.e., born after June 13, 2005)

Open A

  • No restrictions

Open B (Recreational)

  • Open to all players except those who meet any of the following:
    • Under age 45 and:
      • A coach
      • A professional player
      • Placed in the top 2 of any sanctioned tournament (in Canada or internationally) in the past 2 years
      • Ranked in the top 8 of Junior A (in any format) in the past year

Combined 250+

  • No age or gender restrictions, as long as the total combined age of all 6 team members is 250 or more

Game Format

(Regular Team Events)

Regular Team Events

  • Each match is one game to 31 points, with an interval and side change at 16 points

  • Each team battle includes the following six matches:

    • 3 Men’s Doubles

    • 2 Mixed Doubles

    • 1 Women’s Doubles

Tiebreaking Rules:

  • If the match score is tied (3–3), the winner will be determined by total point difference

  • If the point difference is also equal, the team with the younger average age will lose by default

  • If both point difference and average age are the same, the winner will be determined by the tournament organizers

  • Each match consists of one doubles game to 61 points

  • Every 10 points (inclusive of both sides’ scores), the pair on court must switch out for a new pair

  • Teams may decide and adjust pairings before the start of each match

Match Sequence

  • Each team member will be assigned a number from 1 to 6. Male players will be numbered 1 to 4, and female players will be numbered 5 and 6. Team captains may rearrange the player assignments before the first match of each team battle, provided the numbering follows the above gender-based guidelines
  • Match sequence:
    • 1 & 2 vs. 1 & 2
    • 3 & 4 vs. 3 & 4
    • 5 & 6 vs. 5 & 6
    • 1 & 5 vs. 1 & 5
    • 3 & 6 vs. 3 & 6
    • 2 & 4 vs. 2 & 4
  • Disclaimer:
    • Substitutions will be allowed at the discretion of the organizer
    • If there is only one entrant in a category, the organizer reserves the right to adjust prizing
    • All rules are subject to change at the discretion of the organizer

Registration

Team Registration 

  • Teams are registered by team captains through the BookBadminton App (iOS and Android)
  • When in app, search for “Team Registration” and select your event
  • Team registration is free, however, each players will still need to register individually later
  • Every team (aside from Combined 250+) is required to have a minimum of 2 females, however, teams can elect to have more than 2 females, with the additional female replacing male position

Player Registration 

  • Each player in the team will need to register individually, after May 29th, 2025
  • Players can register through the BookBadminton App (iOS and Android)
  • When in app, search for “Player Registration”
